MBM BC12 Twelve Up Business Card Slitter Review

Businesses today are finding more cost effective ways to do things in-house rather than spending the extra money to outsource. One thing that can be eliminated from your office budget is the ordering of business cards. Instead, investing in a business card slitter will allow you to create your own cards on your own time schedule in the specific amount you need. An ideal machine for this is the MBM BC12. Here is a closer look at the details of this device.

Strengths:

The petite dimensions of this device allow it to sit on a table top for instant access. This allows you to sit down while it's in use, though it runs so fast you won't be able to relax for long.

The set up and operation is quick and easy. An LED control panel offers ten preset cutting modes. A 4-digit counter has options for addition and subtraction functions, allowing batches to run without pre-counting each individual page.

Adjustable paper guides and self-correcting cut lines work to ensure you get precise cuts every time. A safety access cover helps users to avoid injury. If open, the machine won't run until the cover is completely latched.

The strong blades are self-sharpening. With normal use, they shouldn't wear out quickly. And if something happens to damage the cutters, replacements are available.

For basic printing of business cards, this machine is programmed to slice 12 cards from a standard letter size sheet of paper. However, it also has quick change cartridges that can be switched for different cutting formats. Legal size documents can be processed as well. Between these two features, you can create postcards, slice digital photos, make checks, as well as create other items.

When slicing business cards on standard paper, items are processed at about 13 sheets per minute. This creates standard cards that are 2" by 3.5" in size. Up to 50 sheets can sit in the feed tray at once.

An optional perforator and scorer is available for this slitter. This would allow you to easily create items such as tent style business cards, coupon books, occasion cards, event tickets and more.

This product is covered by a one year warranty, excluding wearables.

Weaknesses:

At 65 pounds, this isn't an overly heavy machine. However, it could be awkward and bulky to move around. If you think you'll need to move it frequently, we suggest storing it on a cart for extra portability.

While this machine does have many cool features, it also has a hefty price tag. If this is a concern for you, check out the Intimus BCS412. It is a similar device for about half the cost. The downside to that is it takes two passes to completely slice a sheet of business cards.

As evidenced by the many strengths, the MBM BC12 is an excellent device for slicing business cards. The extra versatility added by the optional perforator and scorer attachments would be a great benefit to many different offices. This would be a perfect system for a human resource department or any other office needing to create business cards or other smaller paper items. We would highly recommend the MBM BC12 as an ideal business card cutter to save you time and money.
