Ways To Save Money On Christmas Parties In 2010

Worried about your annual budget? Think it may be too hard hit to celebrate Christmas this year? Well heres a number of ingenious ways you can still arrange that annual Christmas party at work, within your frugal budget.

1.When searching for a Christmas party, look around for not only the cheapest deals but the best ones. For instance, the price might cover venue and entertainment but not the food, incurring an extra cost. Its best to look for worthwhile deals that include venue, entertainment and food.

2.This year you may have to consider a shared Christmas party, over an exclusive one for your team. They are much cheaper as they often below the 150 per person rate, which includes everything but drinks. Shared Christmas parties are also a great way of socializing with people inside and outside of the work place, as you will share your party with hundreds of others. It also means you dont have to worry about your party being well attended!

3.Think about when your party should take place. Generally, mid-week Christmas parties are cheaper, but then you may have the problem of your staff turning up with a hangover the next day. Some companies prefer to host their part in January instead, mainly because it is more cost effective and the season is far less busy than December.

4.Look into tax benefits for Christmas parties. Currently the threshold is around 150 per person, enabling you to get your Christmas party for far less than if it was taxed!

5.Lastly save money on the night by not forking out for drinks for everyone. Offer instead a contribution towards company drinks or a complementary drink for everyone. Make it clear before the event that drinks are not entirely on you and that everyone should bring some money. You could also book any drinks beforehand if the company you are using offer a discount, which can be up to 20%.

In 2010, you can make your Christmas party budget spread far if you look out for great deals and shared Christmas parties. You can still even celebrate Christmas even when on a small budget!
