What Your Child Must Know About The Information He Gives

Children may not be aware of the danger they can place themselves in by giving personal information about themselves. Children are not aware of just how much information they are now giving that they don't realize they are creating profiles for themselves.

Though legitimately information is for marketing reasons, it can also end up with pedophiles or others who harm kids. According to a speaker in a conference, the technology our kids are exposed to bring opportunities, but also threats to their own safety.

The state's representative has sponsored a bill that would require companies that sell child marketing data to first get permission from parents. According to the bill, companies are expected to state where the information was taken and where it was shared. Many parents might not realize just how much more information their kids are giving out than they should.

A child's profile can be formed from data obtained from other sites which he had previously visited. A parent reveals the oddness of how complete strangers have more knowledge about her kids than she does.

The fact that he was unaware of how his own personal information was taken made the congressman realize the need to educate the people on the bill. Supporting him is a woman whose daughter was kidnapped and murdered. The suspect was caught and convicted.

Death sentence as an option is still being weighed. Under an assumed name, a reporter was able to purchase a list of names of kids and their addresses in Pasadena, California. Some continue to show opposition for sex offender registry and community notification programs.

According to him, offenders may hide who they are, but they would still be able to do their deeds. Making sense of all this is not working. Voluntary safeguards are capable of providing enough security, claims the marketing industry.

Responding to their demands to see the victims if there ever were any, the father just said that he can't show them any victims but that even if he could, it wouldn't do much good. The conference consisted of religious leaders, teachers, and other concerned adults who want to keep children away from harm that can be derived from elements in the Internet.
