Vacuum forming is a good way to create a continuous plastic form. The body of a toy vehicle is made by taking a holey, rigid mould of the car's shape. Then the lid is closed and locked, and the machine is activated, causing the inside to warm up to a preset temperature. The plastic sheeting will melt to the point at which it becomes flexible. When the method is finished, the machine is turned off and permitted to cool. At about that point, the plastic goes through its cooling stage and becomes hard.
