subject: Apple Review Ipad: Extensive Features Including 3gs E-book Reader And A Multitude Of Applications In [print this page]

The iPad is a touch screen tablet computer, approximately the size of your favourite magazine. The iPad comes in three different variations depending on the Wi-Fi, 3G combination you desire. Apple has very cleverly retrofitted their famous iPhone and iPod touch software onto the iPad, resulting in a familiar user interface for the vast array of Apple advocates already out there.

Incredible response time has always been a great feature of the Apple iPad, the only feature which lacking to date is the ability to run multiple applications at the same time, this has been the only limitation.

Oleophobic-coated glass is a mouth full but that's what the screen has been produced out of, the iPhone and iPod Touch are produced with the same material. An LED backlit screen sits just beneath the glass. Apple has never skimped on the finer details, this includes the Apple iPad.

Dimensions of the iPad as follows 190 mm wide by 240 mm tall and 12.7 mm thick, weighing in at 680 grams for the 3GS model. The iPad has the same feel as both the iPod Touch and iPhone and uses the same touchscreen OS with an onscreen Qwerty keyboard, don't be fooled and think you will be able to punch out multitudes of documents. It takes a little getting use to and can be somewhat cumbersome due to the inability to actually feel where your fingers are on the virtual keyboard. An additional physical button on the iPad, something that the iPhone is missing allows you to lock the screen without the accelerometer assuming you would like the screen to be rotated. Very handy, can be seen in the video below by PCMag.

The Apple iPad has suffered criticism due to the fact that you are unable to place calls or send SMS messages. The fact that you have a sim and are 3GS enabled is irrelevant. VoIP software has been the solution for many customers who wish to place calls. Skype offers a tidy solution.

Improved email and Safari web browser experience add to the Apple iPads' glory, Google Maps, Photos, iPod, stocks so you can keep track of your great wealth. These all come free by default, not to mention contacts which can sync to exchange if you have that feature configured.

Personally the Apple iPad is the single most enjoyable devices I've ever purchased. Justifying the purchase was easy for me. You will have to make up your own mind. The great media flexibility, easy to navigate interface and stability of the iPad just oozes awesomeness.

If your looking for a definitive answer you're not going to find it here. The iPad is heavily subject to personal opinion and uses, we all have different reasons for wanting one now if I could just find my car keys.
