subject: Texas Holdem Secrets - 5 Humongous Things The Pro's Don't Tell You [print this page]

Ever wondered that there was something the pro's weren't telling you. Like some Texas Holdem Secrets they were keeping to themselves? Yes, it's true. They are hiding something.

Texas Holdem Secrets #1 - It Takes Practice

Becoming a great poker play takes practice. I don't even know a person who started out perfect. If anyone tells you that I would definitely take it with a grain of salt.

It's easy to learn and start playing poker but any wins are just luck or chance. It takes real skill to master poker and practice is a required ingredient.

Texas Holdem Secrets #2 - It Takes Learning

Practice comes part in parcel with learning. But you can actually learn a lot faster than practicing by reading books, taking courses, watching people etc.

But my favourite way of learning is just getting out and talking to people about what happened, why it happened, what they were thinking, and stuff like that.

Texas Holdem Secrets #3 - It Takes Diligence

Nothing comes for free in this world and success definitely is not instant. You'll need at least half an ounce of diligence to see this one through.

But sticking with it doesn't have to be all boring and tedious. Diligence just means keeping it up even after one month, three months, six months or even a year. It's the players who continue for years and years that really take the cake.

Texas Holdem Secrets #4 - It's Not Easy

And no one said its gonna be easy either. It might be expensive, but how you learn your lessons really makes up the cost. So if you learn critical lessons the easy way - like from a book or course - that could save you thousands then if you had to learn it by actually losing money at the table.

And you are, yes YOU ARE going to take bad beats. Stuff is going to happen that shouldn't have, and that's all just part in parcel with the gig.

Texas Holdem Secrets #5 - It Takes Time

And most of all it's gonna take time. A week or two is seriously not a long time in the grand scheme of things, so why would you expect to be a great poker player in that time?

Think about it, a college degree takes what, a few years? You go spend a few years practicing poker and I bet you if you truly study poker for those three years, at the end of it you will be able to make a college graduates yearly wage in a week playing poker.
