Ford is in the position now where theyve taken the tough restructuring actions, [and] theyre always going to be thinking about how we can take on our tough competitiveness, but weve now invested in new products that people really do want and value.
Even during this economic crisis, Ford invested US$500 million into a new engine plant in Chongquing, China. The venture with Changan Ford Mazda Automotive Ltd, who signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chongquing Municipal Government toward a new facility. Specifically the new project is between Changan Motors, Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Company.
