It has changed from being considered a country with low human values to an economic powerhouse. They have been doing business with the United States and other for many years now. After their astonishing display at the Olympics they've shown the world that not only can they provide goods and services, but it can be done while the whole world is watching.
So what goods and services does China export? There are a multitude of items. If you were to go to your local grocery store there is probably not one item that you might pass that hasn't been imported. Agriculture is a big business. There are many manufacturing plants that cater to food. Seafood is one such market. Many items are caught, frozen and shipped to other countries. The prices are so low that they dominate the marketplace.
Electronics are another item that China does well. Many countries start out elsewhere but become of the cheaper cost of labor they are able to increase their profit margins by opening up locations in China. The next time you look at any type of electronics you purchase it might not be made in Japan. You might be surprised at the production of the smaller piece parts and components.
Textiles are yet another item that is exported. Many of the clothes, and shoes that you wear might have been created in China. Those sneakers that you must have were possibly imported into your country. If you look back at history the original silk market you will see that it came from China. So it should come as no surprise that they are in the apparel business.
Outsourcing is another product that is exported to other countries. They have a large workforce that is highly capable of people utilized. Many might see this as a negative but it is really sheer marketing genius. Each country has something that they are good at or can use to compete. They have a billion plus population at their disposal. The cost to use them is much cheaper than the domestic labor force. This is how China benefits. They use everything to their advantage. You cannot begrudge them for that. It is just like playing football. If you have a player that is a fast run you are going to use him it is just that simply. The other team might hate the fact that you have that player, however if the shoe were on the other foot they've use that player against you to win.
There is no question that China is a dominant player in the export arena. They have the workforce to dominate the market. They have plenty of natural resources that they have at their disposal. And yet with this large workforce brings a great need for import into their country as well.
