Large Or Small Best Toddler Blanket

Blankets; both small and large are essential part of the kid's bedding set. Such blankets could be store bought or home made. However, one thing remains certain. Unless the blanket is large enough to cover a toddler it may not serve any purposes.

Covering the Toddler

One of the problems that most toddlers face is that consequent upon their growth, the blanket does not grow simultaneously. It is necessary that the blankets cover the patient well to make it an all covering affair. Blankets that won't cover the entire body of the toddler will be of little use. A problem in this regard is that many children are highly attached to their baby blanket and they do not like to part with them. At the same time the blanket is small enough and not able to cover their body and does not give sufficient warmth.

Emotional Considerations

While it would be unwarranted taking away the kid blanket in exchange for the large toddler blanket, parents may elect to purchase new toddler blanket and retain them in addition to the small blanket purchased earlier for the child. This way the emotional attachment of the child to the blanket of the earlier days won't be severed while the newer one will start gradually replacing the old one providing better warmth and comfort for the child. It is like keeping a pet item inside with a larger item covering it from above.

Using Baby Blanket as Toddler Blanket

It is however possible using the baby blanket as a toddler blanket for practical purposes. Such objective can be accomplished in multiple ways. Hand knitted baby blankets can be easily expanded into large fitting blankets for the toddler. Knitting borders around the edges of the blanket can do the trick pretty conveniently. It gives added impetus to the mental happiness of the toddler since the blanket was created and recreated by the same special maker.

Sewing Quilt Out

A good idea of turning the baby blanket into the toddler blanket would be sewing the quilt out of it. People that do not have the required skills for the purpose can requisition the services of someone who knows the tricks. For instance; making a fleece blanket and having the toddler to choose the fabric could serve the purpose pretty well.

If on the other hand the toddler develops a liking for the new blanket, it will be great since he or she won't be looking any more for the old one.
