A Focussed Mind With Help You Suceed When Starting Your Own Business

If you own a small business and want to give yourself a greater chance of success, then I would suggest that you read a copy of The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson.

In this chapter we refer again to the Penny The Penny for me is the starting point. Every business idea that has been created or formed in the mind of a business owner be it an online business or an offline business, its the same it has to start with an idea and from there we are required to build.

If you replace the penny with the analogy of a seed, then you must realise that for the seed to grow, then the seed must be nurtured and fertilised each and every day. And thats where people fail.

The Penny in the original story eventually turned into over 10 Million Dollars on day 31. That's because it was used and applied each day. Because we are speaking about the cumulative effect, its obvious that 80% of the effort would not have yielded 80% of the purse.

The very same principle applies to business. We must understand what time and effort that we need to invest. We must understand the amount of time and for how long we need to make this investment.

In business, we see many businesses performing as if they were on a roller coaster. Feast Famine Feast Famine Feast Famine Burnout No Business. It happens too often and all because they did not make their daily penny deposit. They failed to nourish the seed each day. Even though they knew from the outset, what work was required and for how long it was required, they choose to do something easier or different. Why is this.

In coaching and helping clients to build the business, we try to introduce accountability and metrics to the business which allows us to map performance and understand why businesses may perform the way that they do.

Implementing metrics and guidelines for the successful growth of any business, either online or offline is an important element and it ensures discipline and commitment.

It also highlights early where people may be going wrong or where they may be having challenges and it allows corrective action to be taken before it is too late.

We coach business people every day helping them to implement strategies in their business which will yield a better life for them in the long run.
