China, A Tourists Delight

The Yangtze river, or Chang Jiang is the longest river in China and Asia, and the third-longest in the world, after the Nile in Africa and the Amazon. As the largest river in the region, the Yangtze is historically, culturally, and economically important to China. Beijing is one of the world's greatest cities. It is a metropolis in northern China and the capital of the People's Republic of China.

The Yangtze river is about 6300 km long and flows from its source in Qinghai Province, eastwards into the East China Sea at Shanghai. It acts as a line of geographical division between North and South China. Tourists travel to Beijing to catch a glimpse of places of high historical importance like the Badaling stretch of the Great Wall of China, the Temple of Heaven, the Tian'anmen Square. The city has been an integral part of Chinas history for centuries; there is scarcely a major building of any age in Beijing that doesn't have at least some national historical significance. Beijing is renowned for its opulent palaces, temples, and huge stone walls and gates. Its art treasures and universities have long made the city a centre of culture and art in China. Every year, a very large number of tourists travel to Beijing in order to soak in the magnificence of this city which still remains an epicenter of tradition with the treasures of nearly 2,000 years as the imperial capital still on view in the famed Forbidden City and in the city's lush pavilions and gardens.
