subject: Distance Is Not An Issue When The Idea Is To Enjoy Real Cuba Holidays [print this page] Cuba was always in my mind as an interesting place to visit, but it was mainly the distance that was stopping me from going. I had never been outside of Europe before so the prospect of a 9-hour long flight scared me a bit. The distance issue that held me back for so many years was suddenly banished last month, when I finally decided to finally embark onCuba holidays and challenge the long hours on a plane. Well, Im glad to say now that the whole experience was amazing, including the flights with Virgin both ways.
I arrived at Havana airport and a few minutes after I was warmly greeted by a friendly rep welcoming to the island and the time of the coach transfer simply flew by when I realised I had finally arrived in my hotel. I stayed at the Habana Libre hotel in downtown Havana and all I wanted to do was to enjoy a week of sheer relaxation while making time to mingle with the locals, see the authentic Cuban way of life and meet the people there. I wanted to get the most real Cuban experience possible. The hotel was extremely good, excellent service provided by all staff I encountered and breakfast was massive in regards to food quantity and variety (delicious and tasteful sweets). My room was postioned overlooking the popular Malecon seawall of Havana; a place where you can do lots of people watching and enjoy the amazing views of the sea.
All that I got to experience in Cuba amazed me since it was more than I expected, but what impressed me the most was the people. Cubans are very friendly and they always have a smile on their faces no matter what. I had the opportunity to talk to lots of them and to my satisfaction many of them spoke a little English. It was very interesting and surprising to see how many Cubans know so much about England, its heritage, music (especially music) and a little of their history.
It was a short time to see everything I would have liked to see, but a week in Havana was enough to convince me that a 9-hour flight was really worthy and to confirm that my next trip abroad will be to Cuba once again! In my opinion theres so much to see and do than a single trip to Cuba just wont do!
