The World Travel Awards 2011 recognised the Graycliff Hotel, Restaurant & Cigar Company as the leading hotel in the Bahamas for the second consecutive year last October.

Guests can choose rooms and suites including the traditional Pool Cottage where Winston Churchill used to stay during his frequent holidays to the Bahamas, or the Mandarino Cottage which has an extra large bathroom and whirlpool and offers a modern experience for guests.

All of the rooms feature sophisticated decor and furnishings, air conditioning, private baths (most with Jacuzzis), luxurious bathroom products, mini-bars, TVs with cable channels, alarm clocks, telephones, safety deposit boxes, and daily housekeeping and turn down service.

Tourists can enjoy delicious cuisine throughout their holidays in the Bahamas at the Graycliff Restaurant. The five-star restaurant offers an opulent setting with high ceilings and chandeliers and the menus boasts exquisite Bahamian dishes.

The propertys Humidor Churrascaria restaurant has a banquet-style buffet of decadently seasoned, grilled and skewered meats, salads, vegetables and Brazilian specialties.

Graycliffs award-winning wine cellar boasts 250,000 bottles from over 400 vintners in 15 countries and guests can enjoy wine and cheese tastings during their stay at the luxury Bahamas hotel.

Food-lovers will also have the chance to improve their cooking skills while on holidays at the Bahamas mansion at the Graycliff Culinary Academy. Executive Chef Elijah Bowe and his team will demonstrate how to make signature dishes including Lobster in a Puff Pastry, Bahamian Conch Chowder, and Crispy Duck with Bahamian Citrus Sauce.

The hotel provides complimentary access to the Blue Lagoon Beach and guests can relax in double hammocks, play volleyball, swim in the warm ocean, or visit the Dolphin Encounters facility.

Guests can also visit the Graycliff Cigar Company which is owned by the Graycliff Hotel and they will have the chance to learn how to make an authentic Caribbean cigar.

The Graycliff Hotel beat off stiff competition from other Bahamas hotels with the help of 200,000 votes in the annual World Travel Awards 2011 poll.
