On the other hand, some criticize that the use of appraisal forms as one of the best performance management tools is a time-consuming method and quite irrelevant since it does not actually result to the desired outcome of employee performance improvement. Despite the negative feedbacks, however, this method is still the most common performance management tool used by most companies.

Another alternative to make employee development truly significant is the use of coaching, which is also one of the most utilized performance management tools nowadays. With the employment of coaching in the management procedures, the employees working skills are enhanced and their level of knowledge is improved. As such, it is expected that these improvements on employees performance will surely help in realizing the objectives of the company.

Aside from coaching, companies use learning and development as well to improve employee performance management. This method includes the detailed review of the processes of the company with the employees for better understanding. Most companies try this technique to be more interactive by encouraging employees to give their suggestions for the individual and overall improvement of the management. Depending upon the managements final decision, any method can invariably provide attainable improvement for the company when implemented properly!
