New Travel Trends That Exclude Flying This Summer

Flying is not the idea way to travel as it once was in a less hectic and simpler time. The air carriers have consistently justified in their minds reasons for upping their once budget friendly fees and rates and destination ports to a level that many families of four cannot afford. Some people attribute these changes to nothing more than greed. Regardless of what the reasons are, it is no longer economically viable for many families to use this form of transportation for vacation purposes simply because this expense is usually higher than the rest of the vacation expenses combined and out of reach.

Anyone who has ever gone on a vacation knows that some expenses can exceed their usefulness and must be changed; such as too high air fares for family vacations. These families have instead decided to drive to their planned vacation hotspot and use the money they saved on other stress reducing amenities after they arrive at the destination and the vacation officially begins.

New fees seem to be showing up at every air carrier every day. One airline known as Spirit Airlines made the announcement that they will start charging for carry on bags that don't fit under the seat and storing anything in the overhead compartment be have a $100 tab attached and there is new talk from other airlines that they are considering charging passengers for using the on board plane restrooms.

Obviously, companies need to stay in business and no one is saying that they shouldn't charge for their services. More and more over, however, companies are taking too many liberties with their charges and as a result the commercial airlines are losing business to consumers who would rather save money by either taking their own personal vehicle or renting one when on holiday then to pay the extraordinary fees that the commercial airlines are charging for every aspect of their services.
New Travel Trends That Exclude Flying This Summer

If you feel you are being limited to very few vacation or holiday options; think again. Do a few quick Google searches about your area and state or an adjoining state or city and you will be pleasantly surprised at the long list of new things and places you never knew existed or can do very inexpensively and close to home. You don't have to rely on the airlines to have a great vacation with your family, nor will you have to put up with the exorbitant hike in airline ticket prices as well as service related fees. You do have very viable options that don't include a airplane ride to anywhere, leaving more money in your pocket for a well deserved road trip. Enjoy your summer!
