Cala Mayor is very close to the capitol of Palma and is home to the summer residence of the Spanish Royal Family. Santa Ponsa is a large bay situated in the south west of the island. If you bring your clubs when you travel to Mallorca then the two local golf courses will be ideal. A third course has hosted a tour event and is members only. There is a good sized beach which looks out to the turquoise waters of the bay. This is a quiet and understated resort perfectly suited to those with children.
Magaluf although perfectly suited to family holidays this is definitely the place to come to if you travel to Mallorca as part of an 18-30s package. With its clubs, pubs and famous DJs, Magaluf puts on a real show. The resort claims to host the worlds largest foam party, on the square behind the BCM thousands of supporters sometime congregate to watch football matches on the huge screen. At the beach you can try your hand at diving, jet skiing and wind surfing or visit the nearby water park where diving exhibitions and water slides are the order of the day.
