Undoubtedly, Eugene Delacroix is the best representative of French Romanticism, an artistic movement with much influenced in the French history. Eugene Delacroix (1798 - 1863) was a French Romantic artist regarded since the beginning of his career as the leader of the French Romantic School. His complete name was Ferdinand Victor Eugene Delacroix. Eugene was the fourth child of Charles Delacroix, a foreign Minister under the Directory and Prefecture of Marseilles. At the age of 18, Eugene entered l'Ecole des Beaux-Art where developed his artistic talent. After this period, he begins with his Paintings.

Eugene Delacroix had a notorious influence of the Renaissance. He painted animals, musicians, religious subjects, portraits and large original murals. Eugene Delacroix became the leader of the Romantic School, but the failure of the Revolution of 1830 made it necessary for him to express himself in literary and exotic Paintings such as those resulting from a journey to Morocco in 1832. Eugene Delacroix took for his inspiration the art of Rubens and some painters of the Venetian Renaissance.
