Do you use Google Gmail for e-mail? Then you probably lots of free storage space on your account, designed to store e-mail. The space in Gmail is constantly growing. With the free GMail Drive you can use storage space as a web hard drive!

GMail Drive is a free tool that integrates itself into Windows and give you a new storage device that is connected to your Gmail account. By storing special e-mail with your files as attachments, may GMail Drive using your account online hard drive. It lets you store files here, to simply take them between two computers - for example between home computer and work.

It should already now be pointed out that GMail Drive is not the ultimate solution for your hard drives. Of course it is better to use a service that is designed for just that.But if you have Gmail, and if you want to get started quickly and easily, GMail Drive is worth taking a look at. It has recently launched a new version that is more stable than before.

Start by visiting the program's website and download the Zip file with installation file.Unzip the files in a folder somewhere on your hard drive. You can use a free zip utility for this purpose. Once you have unpacked the files, run the installation program running Setup.exe. After you install the GMail Drive, you will receive a new storage device (located in My Computer / Computer ) with the same name.

Double-click the icon to open your online hard drive. You will have to fill in your login to your Gmail account, for the program to read and write the specific storage letters.

Once seen, it looks like on the storage device at any time. You see your existing files and you can add and delete files as usual, by dragging and dropping or deleting the[Part]. In the menu File you will find the ability to disconnect you from your device -Log out. If you choose File -> Properties brings up a dialog box that shows how much storage you have left on your hard disk.

GMail Drive is again not the best solution for a web hard drive, but it is a good and easy option if you already have a Gmail account. It goes very quickly to get started and if you do not have any other web disk or no USB stick, so it is an okay method to store the files somewhere.

If you want more space and try something different, try the Microsoft SkyDrive with program SkyDrive Explorer. It works like this, except that SkyDrive is a real web disk. Free program SkyDrive Explorer gives you just as GMail Drive a storage device on your computer, linked to your browser's hard drive.
