Don't try to outsmart each other

Don't smother each other

A little functional jealousy is o.k., but too much will destroy the relationship

Know when to throw in the towel and quit

Having friends is healthy, don't belittle each others friends, no matter how weird they might seem to you

Be honest about your feelings to each other

Life is short, make the best of every day

Be honest about sexual needs, never put anyone down if they are having a problem with performance; that only makes things worse

Live life to the fullest, you may not be here tomorrow

Be sincere in your communication, don't humor and patronize, this will only lead to separation

Don't let your families come between you; tell them to mind their own business

Don't use the kids as pawns in your dysfunctional game; it will come back to haunt you later

Don't live beyond your means; don't run your credit cards through the roof

Save money; be financially responsible

Plan for your future now

Don't be secretive about money with each other; if you have to do that then you should not be together in the first place

Spend time with each other, quality time; go somewhere and get away from it all, and everything will still be there when you get back

Let your worries go, give them to God, seek the path of peace, understanding, and balance

Don't overindulge in anything

Put your relationship first and your kids second; this will keep you together, safe and secure

Don't try to change each other, concentrate on changing yourself and everything else will fall into place
