As the weather turns cooler and the leaves change colors, the Atlanta metro area offers many opportunities to celebrate the fall season. Every weekend there is a different festival to explore in an area town. Here is an overview of some of the most popular ones.

One of the largest festivals is the Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park, on the east side of the metro area. This is the 8th year for the festival, which is held every weekend in October. This festival is a favorite family event, with something for all ages. Some of the featured activities are a Kids Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt, a Great Pumpkin Puppet Parade, a Children's Costume Contest, a Pie Eating Contest, Storytelling, and the popular Dress Your Own Scarecrow. Attendees on Saturday evening can stay and enjoy the Laser Show.

The Norcross Harvest Festival is scheduled for October 23. This festival will celebrate Norcross' 140th birthday.
