An Overview Of Online Advertising

Advertising has been around for many years; it can be traced down during the ancient times. Advertisements are messages - printed in magazines or newspapers, broadcasted in TV or radio, sent though mailbox or e-mails or disseminated in other related fashion. These messages attempts to persuade consumers to buy a product or try services from a company or organization. The industry is essentially composed of the media, the advertisers and the agencies. Agencies serve their clients with variety of experts. The media provides the avenue for publicity opportunity. Advertisers are companies, organizations or businesses that need the marketing campaign for their products or services. Advertising GoalsThe most common advertising goal is to influence consumer choice of a particular brand. Marketing research determines which types of consumers are most likely to advertise the product, and it can also test the features, benefits and other appeals to which consumers accepts. Different ads focus on different immediate goals. Ads can produce public awareness on a certain company name, appeals, favorable beliefs and attitude. Social Impact of AdvertisingAdvertising has been accused of ruining the environment (billboards blocking views) and changing the perception of man. It has been called to make people buy things that they don't really need or want, often invoking negative motivation such as guilt, anxiety and fear. In defense, most advertisers argued that consumers have the right to make up their own minds. The public, however, claimed that mass persuasion has generally raised serious objections to advertisement contents.Advertisers have sometimes created a new social impact by heavy used of advocacy ads that doesn't just convince people to buy products but also influence their opinions on public matters. Another important impact of advertisement stems to the support for the media. Media organizations thus see the public as their primary audience but as mere bait for attracting advertisers. The media content is specially designed to attract citizens in all groups and ages. Economic Effects of AdvertisingMuch of today's business organizations waste their resources because of the stiff competition among them. The debate among advertisers and marketing critics claimed that ads costs consumer's money. Advertisers backfired by stating it saves consumer's money. In an economic perspective, the mass market may be expanded for a product category, but if advertising pulls much of the market share to a brand, the results may be lower costs and high consumer value. In a bad economy, there are so many opportunities to expose company's strength to potential targets that are aren't possible to a stable economy. Every person can be explored to help fortify a marketing campaign and mostly stand out among competitors.
