Geographically, Japan is situated in the Northeastern Asia between the Sea of Japan and North Pacific. Japan has four major islands surrounded by 4,000 smaller ones. Japan has towering mountains, volcanic twisted valleys, and coastlines. Major cities of Japan that a tourist might have interest in are Tokyo the capital city, Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Kobe, Fukuoka and Sedai.

Population of Japan is over 126 million and most of its population resides in urban areas. Tourists often find a communication barrier while choosing to go to Japan, mainly because the only language spoken there is Japanese. Generally, summers in Japan are hot and humid, winter has frozen seas, and it's dry on Pacific Ocean side. Japan has rainy and wet summers.

It is often recommended to travel to Japan in summers, as from August to October at least five to six typhoons pass across Japan, and typically, winters are too cold for outdoor activities. There are 12 festivals that Japan celebrates in the summers, these are called Matsuri. As Japan is known as a land of Gods, local shrines and temples often sponsor these festivals. It is often said that summer journey of Japan is more fruitful than in any other season. There are about 1000 kinds of cheery trees that blossom every spring.
