In Arthur you see the story of Arthur Bach, the devilishly handsome young gentleman from an extremely rich family. He has some drinking problems but that is nothing compare to what the future might contain. Arthur is lucky with money and can only handle things with his unlimited wealth and incredibly talented nanny. She might be old control freak, but she is his best advisor and at times the voice of morality in the movie. You might think that the life is perfect for him, think again; he finds trouble in shape of beautiful love interest for him. She might be the right girl for him, but there is nothing in her that his family might want.
Although this is the second time Arthur has been filmed, and this re-imaging after thirty years has given new depth, freshness and a whole new life to this timeless classic. Arthur is extremely funny movie and is filled with wit, goofiness and slapstick situations as well. The best part of this coming of age comedy is the incredible timing. While Russell Brand has performed his usual best, others including the lovely Greta Gerwig and wealthy heiress Jennifer Garner have also given stunning comedic performance as well.
The bad boy days of Arthur are over as family wants him to get married with the girl who is extremely rich instead of the one he has heart for. Classic situation but how to get out of this, the answer it seems is in hands of nanny Hobson. This genius woman has seen a lot of mischief in her times too. Seeing the Oscar winner Helen Marian performs is a joy, she did this role after long break.
The beautiful poor girl is played by the amazing Greta Gerwig. Not only this young lady a great actor but at times has more personality then the whole cast. The classic drama of rich Vs poor although has been played for almost unlimited time, but the chemistry between the two lead is incredible this. One has to appreciate the work of the whole team also; they have given new life to the already established American classic.
Directing the comedic movie is not easy, yet this one has all the elements right, thanks to the incredible work by director Jason Winer. This movie is written on the story by Steve Gordon and screen Watch Arthur Online play by Peter Baynham. You can also see the incredibly talented actor Helen Mirren doing an awesome acting job as the controlling nanny Hobson in here as well.
