As the spring dawns and the nights get longer and warmer, the majority of us are more likely to hold garden parties and invite our friends and family round for drinks and dinner in the garden. But this can mean that our carefully sculpted gardens are damaged with balls and shoe heels and other catastrophes that come from having people over. If you try some damage limitation before the event then it could save you pounds in the long run!

Try:

Locking up anything that isn't needed; lawn mowers, bikes and hoses are often tripped over and can cause damage to your garden,. Take the stress out of worrying about them by locking them away.

If you have any expensive garden equipment like statues or water features then secure them to the ground with concrete to stop them from getting inadvertently knocked over and damaged.

If worried about heels on the new lawn then why not buy some flip flops and hand them out to guests? This way they get a little gift and it keeps your lawn trim and tidy without offending anyone.

When the party is over, make sure that you lock away any garden equipment as an opportunist burglar may seize a chance. Turn on security lights to make the borders secure, and consider raising the fences to make the too high to climb. You could also add conifers to the borders for added security, to stop people being able to see what is in your garden. Look online for Home Insurance and make sure that any garden belongings are covered in your policy. By buying Home Insurance online you will save yourself time and money to spend in the sun with your family!

It also means that in the summer months we are less careful of our possessions, often leaving the double doors open when you are in the garden, and inviting the burglars in. Lock up any garden equipment over night and ensure that you have locked doors and windows when you go to bee to protect you and your possessions from thieves and opportunist burglars.
