Well, seeing is to believe, lie down on some mattresses around different stores and see how you feel.
4) Don t be too worried about words like, firm, extra firm, etc
Manufactures tend to exhibit their mattresses in every way they can, so see for yourself test them and not believe them, you might ask a friend or a family member before buying one.
5) Warranty
This is the most important thing to consider. If you get a mattress with a 25 years of warranty, thats just great even more better if there is a life time guarantee.
6) Get familiar with the following terms:
Innerspring these are the most common ones. It is made up of steel coils layered in cushions.
Box spring (also called the foundation).has an old box spring on which the mattress is put.
7) Make your own choices, see what you have.
There are many other options than spring or box spring mattresses such as foam mattress, airbeds, futons and waterbeds.
