Tips and Suggestions For Travelling With Babies

They are small, cuddly, cute and they can scream for hours, it seems. They brighten your life, gladden your heart and love you unconditionally. They are babies, but traveling with them can be a pain. They require everything to be done for them, so parents have to stop the car to do that. Making trips with babies often are planned around the baby instead of planned around the attraction to be visited. Even so, there are some fun ways to travel with babies that will leave parents a bit less stressed.

After choosing your tailormade holiday, think of stops along the way for changing and feeding baby. At those times, let the baby play as much as possible to tire her out, then she can enjoy a long nap in the car. If you stop at rest stations or other populated areas, be sure to have pictures in your wallet and/or on your mobile of baby, so if you become separated, people will have her likeness in mind while looking for her. Jumping games, bouncing about and chasing bubbles are good for tiring baby so she'll sleep.

Interactive toys which play music or make animal sounds and such plus books or toys making crunching or whisper sounds are popular toys for babies. They make excellent travel toys because they engage the attention. Music might keep baby occupied, especially if it's children's music on CD; her attention will be caught if parents sing along with the music, making baby laugh and try to emulate her parents. Riding in the back with baby could be one parent who switches off with the other parent occasionally, both of whom tickle her, count her toes, wiggle her nose and all those physical things parents do with babies. This will keep her occupied for at least a few miles on the way to your tailormade holiday.

Many parents have been successful using activity boxes packed with puzzles, learning toys and "driving" trays which fit over the baby restraint so baby can help "drive" the car. Games and activities which require some physical movement, such as steering the wheel or moving the arrow toward the cow sound, for example, not only capture her attention, but will tire her after a while so she sleeps, which is always a boon to parents. Being careful not to give her keys you will be using that day, of course, giving her keys to play and make noise with is something all babies love which is also in keeping with your trip, so she'll be fascinated with your keys.

Traveling with babies is more fun when parents play with baby because it occupies her and lessens stress for the parents.
