Lanzarote is a fantastic destination to visit during the spring months as at that time of the year this perennially popular island is carpeted in flowers, whilst also enjoying great weather and temperatures that reach well into the mid 20s Celsius.Lanzarote has been a popular holiday hot spot for decades and attracts lots of tourists from Northern European centuries such as the UK and Germany. Accommodation choices on the island are superb with everything from Lanzarote Villas to choose from, and regardless of your age you'll find the culture and landscapes of the island almost hypnotic. The island is well known for its surreal volcanic landscapes which were created by eruptions in the 1700s. However, the islands volcanic past is not a concern these days making it perfectly safe to enjoy a visit to the Timanfaya National Park, the epicentre of the eruptions.Like many other holiday islands Lanzarotes main appeal probably lies in its beaches. And there are some truly spectacular stretches of sand to discover here. Some of which are regarded as amongst the best in the Canaries if not Spain. Such as the coves and bays of Papagyo, part of a natural protected park in the south of the island close to the popular resort of Playa Blanca. And they can be accessed via a coastal path which takes about 15 minutes to walk from the centre of the resort or they can visit by car - paying a small admission fee for the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities and amenities here.Playa Blanca has emerged as Lanzarotes second most popular resort and was built during the 1990s. It has become especially popular with independent holidaymakers as there is such a large selection of holiday villas in Lanzarote here available for rent. Expect to pay upwards of 400 per week. Prices rise even higher as you travel along the coast in the direction of Puerto del Carmen, the islands oldest resort. Where tourists can find some of the most upmarket villas in Lanzarote Most of which can be found in the residential area of Los Mojones, right in the centre of the resort.Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca may dominate the tourist market here but visitors can also opt for the quieter third resort of Costa Teguise, which can be found in the north of the island. Costa Teguise tends to appeal to older holidaymakers and young families. As there isn't as much nightlife in evidence here as in the other two main resorts. There are however plenty of excellent beaches such as Playa Bastian and Playa Cucharas for visitors to enjoy.
