You may work with some people that you don't like. Maybe the city is not your kind of place. Maybe you just don't like the assignment.But, you will almost always have a good place to stay. Travel nursing agencies realize the importance of your living standards and many times partner with local corporate housing agencies to cater specifically to careers that travel for a living and need a place to live.What is a typical housing arrangement on your assignments?The typical housing arrangement consist of a one bedroom furnished apartment, as a standard. If you are looking for more, for example if you are traveling with your family or a fellow travel nurse you would just have to arrange that with your agency.Your utilities such as power, water and trash are normally included. Depending on your agreement extra add-ons such as cable and internet may or may not be included. Make sure to ask and clarify the guidelines with your agency so that you don't end up with an unexpected bill.The housing normally includes basic furnishings like washer and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators etc. In addition, your housing will be stocked with standard housewares such as pots, pans, glasses, linens and any other standard furnishings in a fully furnished corporate apartment.What if you choose to find a place on your own?Many traveling nurses, especially those traveling nurses that have been working for several years, like to find their own travel nursing housing. In this case, your agency will more than likely provide you with a stipend. Many times the stipends are much more than what you are actually paying for your housing. Therefore, if you are looking to get some extra money in your pocket, find your own low cost housing then get the stipend for accommodations. This is especially beneficial if you have family or friends you can stay with; imagine the money you can save!As you can see housing arrangements for traveling nurses, is not a complicated process. You basically have two choices, let the agency place you and they pay the expense or you can find your own and get a housing stipend.
