Detroit MI and Statewide Charities: MI Auto Times Donating $1 for Every Facebook Like'

Detroit MI readers of MI Auto Times and readers from across the globe have a chance to do something good with little effort required. MI Auto Times wants to give back to local Michigan communities and will donate $1 for every person who "likes" the MI Auto Times Facebook page.

MI Auto Times is not limiting the "liking" to Michigan residents only, but the entire planet is invited to help raise money for a Michigan-based charity. There are no requirements or requests for personal donations from the people doing the liking on the MI Auto Times Facebook page, only a simple request to click a button.

The charity fundraising campaign is running the entire month of November because the staff and editorial team at MI Auto Times wanted to do something more than give thanks; they wanted to give cash.

Once the campaign ends, all those who liked the MI Auto Times Facebook page will have the opportunity to vote on which charity should get the donation. People are welcome to get the voting started early by posting comments to the MI Auto Times Wall on Facebook about which charity organization or nonprofit group should receive the funds.

MI Auto Times will close the fundraising campaign at 12:00 a.m. on Dec. 1, 2010. Charity organizations should be legitimate non-profit organizations that directly contribute to the health and/or welfare of people living in Michigan. The organizations should be based in Detroit MI or elsewhere in the state of Michigan.
