Now there is nothing wrong with writing books. However, all these people can teach you is how to successfully write and promote books. They cannot tell you how to run a business.

Some people make a living going around and solving business problems. This is fine and they can be helpful. When your business has problems, they can come in and help you find out what is going wrong and how to fix it. This is valuable information.
However, if all they have ever done is fix problems, then they cannot teach you how to start and run a successful home based business. They can offer you theories but they can never offer you a proven method of success. They cannot do this because they have never done it themselves.
Successful entrepreneurs can offer proven solutions
When you receive advice and strategies from someone who has been where you are and is where you want to be, you will get proven strategies to success. These people know how to get to where you want to be because they have already made it. They have tested their theories and know which ones work.
The value of success over theory
Pretend you want to move to Alaska. Now you have three options. You can ask:
The person who wrote 1,000 books on Alaska
The person who advises people on how to get to Alaska
Your neighbor who moved to Alaska
As you can see, your neighbor can offer you the most relevant advice. He or she lived where you lived and can tell you exactly what you need to do to prepare and ultimately make the move to Alaska.
The other two people can only give you general ideas and theories. They do not know what it is like to be where you are and cannot accurately predict the problems you will encounter. They have never made the move, therefore, everything they suggest is only based on theory.
Business works the same way. You can read all the books ever written on how to start and run a home based business, but unless it was written by someone who did it, it is only theory. If you really want to learn how to become successful, then you need to align yourself with someone who is successful and duplicate the efforts.
