subject: Single At Christmas - What To Do? [print this page] You might be someone who misses the warmth of someone's embrace because you are single at Christmas. This is rather normal especially if you're still fresh from a break up, or worst - divorce. Reminiscing the times when you're still together maybe a thing you do because you're alone at Christmas.
However, this should not stop you from enjoying this wonderful time of the year. In fact, making some plans can help wash the "alone at Christmas" blues away. This is also a perfect opportunity to reflect on yourself. Here are 4 things you can consider doing this holiday season:
Go on a singles cruise. Sailing the seas is the preferred choice of singles during Christmas holiday. Not only will you be able to see new places, but you would also get to meet new people. There are a lot of activities on board a singles cruise that you can do such as offshore excursions and cocktail parties.
You can choose a short trip (2 to 3-day cruise). Or you can opt for a much longer one that would include New Year celebration. This is an excellent way to see different parts of the world, and to clear emotional cobwebs. As a single at Christmas, you can sail your single-ness away on one of these cruise.
If you don't like the open sea, or get sea sick easily, why not go skiing. There are tons of ski resorts out there you can choose from. Ski resorts not only offer fabulous slopes, but exhilarating nightlife as well. They also offer various activities to their guests. This is a great way to meet and socialize with other people.
Attend holiday events and parties. You don't have to be embarrassed just because you're single this Christmas season. Keep in mind that a lot of people go through singlehood. Join holiday gatherings and feasts just as if you were in a relationship. If you don't want to fly solo, ask other single friends to join you. This will help you from feeling awkward and out of place. And the best part, you would also be cheering up your friend who is also alone this holiday season.
Do volunteer work. This is a great way to give something back to the community. Help out the poor, homeless and the less fortunate in your area. At least you would not be all alone on Christmas. And you get to make a difference this holiday season for others. You can make this a yearly tradition even after you've found Mr. Right.
Get yourself involved in holiday performances in your area. Join the choir at your local church. You can also perform in community plays. Join other community members who would perform Christmas carols in and around your neighborhood. Participating in these activities will keep you from feeling alone and single at Christmas. This is an excellent idea these holidays for single people.
