Power Yoga For Weight Loss: Iyengar Yoga | Hot Yoga | Weight Watchers | Fat Loss

The ancient practice of Yoga has become very popular all across the world, for the several health benefits that have been associated with it. Apart from better immunity, reduction in stress and increased strength, Yoga can also help you lose a lot of weight. Some of the disciplines of Yoga that can help in weight reduction are Iyengar Yoga, Hot Yoga and Power Yoga for fat loss.

Iyengar Yoga weight loss

Iyengar Yoga refers to the form of yoga in which the use of props is quite common. People performing Iyengar yoga for weight loss often rest in Balasana (The Child Pose) or Savasana (The Corpse Pose) in between different exercises. Iyengar Yoga not only helps in losing weight, but also improving the way a certain pose is practiced, since it requires most poses to be held for a longer duration of time.

Hot Yoga for weight loss

As the name suggests, this discipline of Yoga is practiced in a Hot environment, - a room which has been preheated to a temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit. A series of 26 Yoga poses need to be performed in one go, which takes approximately 90 minutes. Therefore, this form of Yoga is one of the best for weight loss, since it makes you sweat profusely and burns away the fat internally.

Power Yoga for weight loss

This is a wonderful discipline of Yoga that can improve coordination, increase flexibility and get rid of stress. However, the biggest advantage of Power Yoga is weight loss. Therefore, specialized classes in Power Yoga for weight watchers have become very common. This form of yoga is the best suited to people, who are younger and have attained a moderate level of fitness. Power Yoga does not contain any chanting or meditation techniques while practicing the various poses. Power Yoga is aimed at practicing basic Yoga asanas (poses), in the right manner and then polishing them, by retaining the pose for a longer time. Power yoga poses are usually associated with the backbone of the Surya Namaskaar (Sun Salutation Pose) and therefore, in order to perform Power Yoga appropriately, it is important to have at least some knowledge of this pose.

It is important to ensure that beginners never attempt any pose of yoga without the guidance and supervision of a qualified guru or teacher.
