Somercot's Cottage is another popular attraction just outside the town. Captain Samuel Horton built it in 1840 and its notable features are a cobble courtyard and a spectacular 20 paned French window.

Yet another interesting Church Street attraction is the Tasmanian Wool Center which manufactures high quality products made with wool produced in the area. The center has a Wool Exhibition with many displays of superfine wool materials, wool samples, and clothing. There is also a gift shop where you can browse through a range of Tasmanian crafts, blankets, wool, and garments.
