Puerto Galera Beaches

Puerto Galera Tourism Grows Each Year

Majority of the tourist who come to Puerto Galera are those who are enticed by the beautiful white sand beaches of the municipality. The allure of Puerto Galera also caught the attention of the Club of the most Beautiful Bays in the World, making the Puerto Galera beaches the only coast in the Philippines to be listed.

Two of the most well known beaches in Puerto Galera are White Beach and Sabang Beach. Because of the continuous arrival of local and foreign visitors, numerous resorts continue to develop their facilities to cater to the demands of their expanding market.

The diverse coral reef of Puerto Galera makes it a good destination for those who would like to explore the underwater of the Philippines. Snorkeling and SCUBA diving gear may be rented from some commercial facilities and resorts near the beaches.

Other Puerto Galera Attractions

Apart from the natural tourist destinations in Puerto Galera, there are few other attractions in the municipality. If you would like to take a break from the view of the shores, you may take a side trip to the Tamaraw Falls, which is just a few minutes away by van from the White Beach. The waters fall into a pool and you can get the refreshing feel of the waters by standing on a bridge on top of the pool or by taking a dip into the cool waters a few meters above the pool.

How to Get to Puerto Galera

If a tourist is coming from Manila, Puerto Galera may be accessed from the Batangas Pier. From Manila, a traveller has to travel for two hours to the Batangas Pier. There are bus companies on Buendia (corner Taft Avenue) and in Pasay that have frequent trips to Batangas. From the Batangas Pier, a traveller may choose from several ferry companies that transport passengers to Puerto Galera. The travel time in the ferries may take one to two hours. Puerto Galera has three points of entry: through the Muelle Pier (Town Proper), Sabang Pier (North) or Balatero Pier (East). From the port, you will have to rent a banca (boat) to get to the beach resort.

There is also an option to take the Sikat service, which takes care of your bus and ferry arrangements to Puerto Galera. For $25, you are assured of fast and convenient transportation to and from Puerto Galera.

With constant development in Puerto Galera tourism, it is not surprising to see it as a good option for people who are on a budget yet who are looking for high class beaches and resorts. It is not surprising that with its continuous increase in the economic tourism revenue, it can become a first class municipality in a few years.
