subject: Country Clubs Offer Many Amenities, Depending On Location And Member Needs [print this page] County clubs have long been seen as offering a privileged lifestyle to an elite select group of a few people. However, the reality of country clubs is that they are good places to host events like parties, weddings, golf outings and tournaments, both large and small. Some clubs have a lower limit of guests they prefer for booking a particular room or event venue, but often there are other rooms and places available for small groups of friends to meet and eat weekend brunch, lunch or dinner together.
Plated dinner services can normally be arranged for groups starting at fifty guests to offer high quality dinner or lunch service for organizations like fraternities or school reunions. Plated dinners are different from buffets because the dinner is served course by course by waiting staff and is often the best option for a formal meal. One great example of this would be if a meeting had been planned with an awards banquet and a key note speaker. People getting up from their chairs and getting food from a buffet would make it harder to hear the speaker and interrupt the presentations. Many county clubs also have spas and exercise facilities, often with swimming pools and racquetball courts. The spas can specialize in things like facials and beauty treatments as well as massage and relaxation. The big part of many country clubs is, of course, the golf course. Golfing is something that requires a very large dedicated space. The reason that most people do not have their own personal golf course is the space and care required for upkeep and optimal playing ability. Country clubs probably evolved from a group of individuals combining their resources to maintain and upkeep a good place to hit little balls all over the place and sometimes make them get into tiny little holes.
Modern clubs often have training programs to help those people who want to become better golfers become fit and better at hitting the wee balls into the little holes. Improved strength training offers better endurance on the golf course. Range of motion exercises help golfers be able to move their limbs farther without pain or soreness. Personal golf lessons and training can improve just about any golf game, making a person a better player while offering them improved self confidence. While country clubs might still seem to be elite, playing golf and hosting events through them can actually offer savings over other venues if a family or business invests in a membership.
