India's leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited today informed cardekho.com that it has bagged the prestigious MMA Asia Pasific and Global awards for digital campaigning of " Sports Sponsorship goes on mobile" and has become the first Indian auto manufacturer to win this title. These awards are given to the companies for best mobile media and branding tactics. The award ceremony was held on 17 November in Los Angeles at Mobile Marketing Forum,where Maruti Suzuki won this award, which were announced by Global Mobile Market Association(MMA). The campaign ran for two months which used multiple mobile media resources like Maruti Suzuki Affle's Voice Portals, SMS adverting and SMS 2.0 Mobile Internet. This campaign crossed 7 million users with an outstanding figure of more than 1.2 million engagements and a 7 % CTR (Click Through Rate). MMA got hundreds of submissions from the companies worldwide and finally, the winners were chosen by the MMA Award selection committee which included global industry leaders from Wireless carriers technology and content providers , Industry publication and agencies. This campaign played a vital role for Maruti Suzuki to reach its target audience. Maruti successfully executed "Sports Sponsorship Successfully goes" campaign in 2010 during two major sports events i.e. Indian Premier League(Cricket) and FIFA World Cup (Football) which received an amazing response. Mr. Shashank Srivastava,The Cheif Manager (Marketing, Maruti Suzuki conveyed that they are enchanted that they played a dominant role in mobile media usage and have brought the honor for India by receiving this global recognition for the first time in the country. He added that this campaign came as a result of their study of changing customer interests which in turn showed a remarkable hike in company's alliance with sports thereby building with its target audience. With this great achievement Maruti Suzuki has set an example for all its competitors thereby making significant contribution in mobile media. Indian auto industry contributes to around 5% in GDP, Maruti's contribution in Indian auto industry has been dominant as this year Maruti Suzuki contributed 47.68 % (approx) of the Total auto industry share in the first quarter of 2010 which accounts to more than 50% of the total auto industry market sharewhich is significant number. Maruti's sales from January to October, 2010 raised by 24% which was 1,04,791 units, more than its highest ever domestic sales figures of 92,600 units.
