Inside our home we should make an effort to clear out some of the items that are not really needed during the holiday season. The Christmas tree is usually the focal point and can be decorated to coordinate with the rest of the room. Make the holiday spirit come alive by decorating every room with fresh greenery so the aroma can drift throughout your home. If fresh greenery is not available add some scented candles like balsam, cinnamon, sugar cookie or vanilla.

Glass bowls filled with glass ornaments placed on side tables or used as a centrepiece will add a holiday sparkle. Don't forget to carry your decorating into the bathrooms. Purchase a flameless candle and add some greenery, some ornaments and your powder room will not only have a holiday feel, but it will be safe and softly lit. A big wreath with a big red bow over your mantel and greenery with lights on the mantel is a very striking effect. Candles everywhere adds a glow to your home where table lamps maybe too harsh. Your holiday cards can be hung over the doorways for an eye catching display.
