The World Water Crisis Is Solvable

Championic.com believes strongly that the world water crisis is solvable within this decade. The world water crisis is real 900 million people drink dirty water every day, oftentimes using the same water for bathing, cooking, and drinking. It's a disgusting reality, and it ought to be fixed. Championic believes that the problem can be fixed by applying the mechanism of capitalism to the issue of delivering clean water to areas in the third world.

Support charity: water and Drop In The Bucket

First, Championic notes that organizations exist that powerfully dedicate themselves to ending the water crisis for good. Two organizations that Championic wholeheartedly supports are charity: water and Drop In The Bucket. Charity: water raises money for the water crisis through innovative campaigns from galas to grassroots efforts, and to date has raised over $10 million to build water wells in Africa. Not bad. Drop in the Bucket is another fantastic charity that constructs water wells in Africa, and specifically at the doorstep of African schools. By building water wells by African schools the charity incentivizes kids to go to school, increasing educational opportunity and health in one fell swoop. Championic encourages philanthropists and individuals to donate freely to these organizations, and it calls on businesses to take a lead in ending the water crisis through the application of demonstrated successful business and supply chain principles in addition to the donation of at minimum 1% of after-tax profits to solve the crisis.

Championic believes that two main solutions to the water crisis exist in so far as business is concerned. The first is a matter of scale. Innovations currently exist that can end the water crisis within this decade. The LifeStraw is an invention of Vestergaard Frandsen, who has created affordable tools that can empower both individuals and families to drink clean water. The LifeStraw itself costs little more than $3 dollars. Championic believes that the answer to the water crisis is to create regional, national, and local distribution systems and supply chains in order to effectively source the LifeStraw to third-world villages across Africa and other world communities where water shortages are rampant and clean water is often unavailable, as in the poorer regions of Southeast Asia. Once the LifeStraw is in the hands of third-world villagers and community members, a micro-franchising entrepreneurship approach can be employed, empowering individuals to increase their income and supply LifeStraws for affordable prices to their community members, achieving a double goal of empowering the poor economically while simultaneously providing them with clean drinking water.

In accomplishing the above goal a significant barrier to entry is the necessity of scale. In order to provide clean water to 900 million people, presumably 900 million LifeStraws would have to be constructed, requiring a manufacturing effort that far exceeds current capabilities of manufacturer Vestergaard Frandsen. Championic believes that with the funding of local, national, and global business in contribution of 1% of their after-tax profits to the cause, Championic's non-profit Champions Of Humanity Foundation will be able to scale and then source the LifeStraw to hundreds of millions of impoverished community members, providing clean drinking water for hundreds of millions of individuals.

Championic is committed to driving forward the movement of business to end the water crisis by 2020. There is no such thing as impossible, there is only hasn't been done before. And Championic, as in business as in its desire for an empowered humanity, understands, believes, and has faith and confidence that the capabilities of humanity are uniquely positioned to end the water crisis once and for all.
