Holidays in Hong Kong

Glamour, glitz, and endless fun are what come to mind when one thinks of Hong Kong. Be it gulping down gallons of local tea and gorging on noodles and dim sums, or shopping madly at one of the irresistible retail hot spots, Hong Kong slowly grows on the senses and finally enslaves you. Allow me to provide a somewhat inside look into some of the biggest charmers of Hong Kong.

Holidays in Hong Kong is an enchanting mish-mash of cultures, which makes it absolutely perfect for unique culinary experiences. British influence is still very prevalent, so you might find yourself having traditional afternoon tea one day and a delicious Chinese banquet the next, and they will both be world class. You don't want to miss dim sum, which is a meal of many small different dishes; though it can be expensive, it's well worth trying out this traditional Chinese meal, which means "pieces of heart".

The Victoria Peak was a hill station during the colonial times. Using the old funicular called the Peak Tram to reach Victoria Peak, makes the journey a delight in itself. The fit and adventurous ones may scale the peak over the tram terminus. The different attractions here are drinking in the views from the Peak Tower, retail therapy at the Peak Galleria shopping arcade, and taking the Peak Circuit Walk. Dining at Caf Deco is a must have experience here.

Hong Kong Disneyland - The newly open and the first ever Disneyland in Asia offers total fun and excitement for the whole family. The park is divided into four major attractions: Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Main Street, USA.

Wet Market - In Hong Kong, everything is fresh. And when they say fresh, they mean it. If you happen to travel Hong Kong to visit a friend or someone you know, come along when they go to wet market where the freshest among freshest seafood are for sale.

Lamma Island - If you want to see a different Hong Kong, try Lamma Island. It hosts several outdoor activities such as swimming and hiking. And if you love to taste fresh Hong Kong seafood in great dining ambiance, Lamma Island is still the preferred place to go.
