Online Home Business Using Press Releases

Attracting Traffic With Press Releases For Your Online Home Business!
With an online home business, you need to utilize every way possible
to attract traffic to your website. If you have a huge budget then
you can use paid advertising, like pay-per-click, banner advertising
and paid classified ads. But if you do not have very much money for
advertising then you need to do organic advertising.
Organic advertising is when you write an article, a press release, a
video, or any kind of advertising that is free. When you use the
right keywords, the search engines will pick it up and with great
content Google will put it on their first page. All the ads you see
on the left side of any Search Engine, like Google, MSN, Yahoo, or
Ping are organic and the ads on the right are paid.
Once you master how to get on the first page of the search engines,
all your traffic becomes free traffic.
One way is with press releases. There are two free sites that I use
for this, and that is: Free-press release and Prlog. They are real
easy sites to use. There are many more out there, some charge and some
do not, just do a Google search for them.
The Head Line!
When writing a press release, the most important is the head line.
Your head line needs to demand attention quickly and capture peoples
interest to want to read more. When it comes to a head line, less is
more. Make it short and eye catching. This is how most magazines like,
Enquirer get people to buy.
If your not sure you have a very good headline, have someone read your
head line for you and give you their opinion. This way you will know
if it will peak any ones interest or not. Also, ask them if by just
reading the headline, do they know what the story is going to be
about? And, would they like to continue reading it?
It is also very important that your headline is relevant to what your
story is talking about. You never want to deceive the reader or the
search engines. If your story is completely about something other than
the title, the search engines will just ignore it, and there goes all
your hard work.
A Rock Solid Story!
Be honest in your press release content. You want to deliver a good
rock solid story, not one with a bunch of hype. You want your readers
to look forward to the next press release you write. Make it exciting
and news worthy, remember you are a reporter when it comes to writing
a press release.
When writing also remember that it is news! Use quotes that some one
has said in your report. If you do not know of any one that has talked
about what you are writing about, then do a Google search for quotes
on your subject. There are thousands of people that have wrote quotes,
and it makes your story more tangible
Say something yourself about your article, what your opinion is. This
gives you a chance to express how you feel about the subject your
writing on. News is all about interaction, just think about all the
press conferees that are on television, and the debates going on.
Make sure you put your keywords in the body of your text. Put links in
your text if the sites you are submitting to allows it. This will give
you a back link to your website. Also, give a good call to action.
Tell the people reading where they can go to find more information
about your article and about you.
Fresh New Eyes!
After you finish with your press release, it is a very good idea to
lay it aside for a few hours, then re-read it. Reading your own
material the next day, will really give you a fresh new set of eyes on
your mistakes. If you have someone you know, to trust to give you a
good feed back, then have them read it also.
Remember, press releases are news that you want to grab attention of
the reader with. Write and submit at least one or two press releases
every week, and you will be attracting free traffic for your online
home business in no time.
