7th in Series: How to Get Paid Taking Surveys and Other Creative Online Jobs

We could all use advice on how to make more money. If you are struggling to make ends meet, remember that you are not alone. Just about everyone lives paycheck to paycheck. Money gurus have been telling us for years we need to save money and eliminate debt. That's a lot easier said than done.

One guru gives a plan that is actually realistic and makes sense. The concept is called snowballing. You start by making a monthly budget. Leave yourself about $200 of breathing room for entertainment, or you'll blow your budget. Pay off your smallest debts first and make the minimum payments on the big debts if you are able to. If you can't afford to do this, pay them at least a dollar because something is better than nothing. By paying off the smallest debts first you can really raise your credit score and you get the psychological boost you need because you know you are making headway. Once the smallest debt is paid off, you take the same amount of money you paid them monthly and pay it into the next debt and so on and so forth.

This sounds like a great plan and really it is. But if you don't have the money to even make the smallest payments, you are pretty much up a creek without a paddle. That's why you need to do everything you can to make extra money. This guru suggests mowing lawns and delivering pizzas. Those are both good ways to make money. But what if you have to pay daycare to work these low paying jobs? They aren't worth it!

That's why I'm suggesting a few other ways to make money. I made ends meet as a single mother by, among other things, taking online surveys. Legitimate paid surveys are somewhat hard to find, as there are a lot of scams out there. Some sites are promising people they will get rich quick with online survey jobs. That's ridiculous. Try a clearing house like http://www.getpaidtotry.com/ to find surveys, but don't expect to get rich. You can pay your bills though. Here are other ideas for online work:

1) Create an eCourse and get it out there through an auto-responder website like Aweber. If you mix in some affiliated marketing links, as I have mentioned in other articles, you can make money on it.

2) Review software through SoftwareJudge. These types of jobs are great because not many people know about them yet, and they pay pretty well for what you have to do.

3) Start a paid article directory. It takes a lot of time and work to do this, but it can really pay off in the end. It's a little known fact that marketing companies subcontract SEO article writing and submit those articles to dozens of websites. Marketing companies pay up to $300 per membership fee per month to do this. The marketing companies get to publish as many articles as they want to about their company on your website, which makes their clients' business soar in the search results.
