Learning how to Sell Beats online is one task that many producers tend to imagine as an easy goal. The first thing you need to do is perfect your craft and start making beats that people want to buy. This is the biggest cause for failure in the production community.
Only a few types of beats sell really fast on the internet (explained later). Your first goal as an internet marketer should be to reach the level of skill necessary to compete in a huge world of beat makers and musicians. Everybody is just as hungry, if not more hungry, than you... So don't let your beats hold you back.
I don't want you to think of yourself as a music producer or a beat maker. Instead you should be thinking of yourself as a marketer online who is interested in making money as a producer. No real marketer would dream of putting their time and energy, money and hard work into promoting a product that simply isn't well made. If your product is not sellable, then you're already 10 steps behind, no matter what you do or how much traffic you get.
You don't have to be the next phenomenon music producer, that's simply not necessary. But if you haven't already gotten really skilled with making sampled beats, club bangers, R&B beats and hardcore beats, then you might not be ready for the big times yet.
Don't make beats that your friends will like. Instead, make beats that paying rappers will like and want to buy. Start thinking like a business person and your sure to see success.
