Puerto Vallarta is a Pink Paradise

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Puerto Vallarta is a place defined by glorious and magnificent color. No matter which direction you look, your eyes are treated to a palette that includes something for just about everyone (sorry, lovers of gray that one is a bit tough to find around here). Walk out on the patio of your Puerto Vallarta vacation rental and be surrounded by some of nature's best and most colorful work.

Some hues you expect, simply by virtue of the fact that you're on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Blue is everywhere in the sky, in the clear water of Banderas Bay, in the tile work around the pool at your Puerto Vallarta vacation rental. And green is just about as big, from the thick jungle on the hillsides to the palms that dot the beaches. You may be surprised, though, at the amount of pink that decorates the landscape in and around town.

Pink is everywhere

You can see some of the most gorgeous pink tints at sunset. The pink notes in the evening sky gradually work their way from a soft, gentle blush of pink to a rich, vibrant glowing pink that separates the bay from the velvet sky just before the last light fades. This place is known for its sunsets, and you can catch some of the best ones from the patio of your Puerto Vallarta vacation rental.

Bougainvillea grow like wild things in Puerto Vallarta, and they add a charming color spot to every landscape they're found in. Bougainvillea flowers are tiny and white; the pink you see on the lovely vines is actually a structure much like a leaf, called a bract. That distinction is important to plant people; to everyone else, the important thing is their cheery attitude. Be careful when you admire them, though; like many beautiful flowering plants, the woody branches of bougainvillea often sport thorns.

You are bound to catch glimpses of pink no matter where you go in town. Are you headed to the beach? Count the number of pinkly clad bodies romping in the sand and the surf (try not to stare at pink sunburns). Do you plan to stop at Pipi's for a beverage? The watermelon margaritas are distinctly pink. Among the stacks of colorful blankets at the flea market you can see flashes of hot pink. And don't overlook the pink details that warm the dcor in your Puerto Vallarta vacation rental.
