Year Round Christmas And A Prayerful Spirit!

Year Round Christmas And A Prayerful Spirit!

A grateful spirit is a "prayerful spirit". For Christians celebrating the Christmas season, the birth ofJesus Christ of Nazareth into our earth over 2000 years ago, was the most pivotal moment ever for humankind! In that respect, a Christians' individual most pivotal point would be when they had acceptedChrist into their hearts. "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11.

We Christians already have the greatest gift of Gods' Holy Spirit in our hearts by His grace and our faith in His Son Jesus Christ. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also."Matthew 6:19-21.

God has blessed us with a wonderful, bountiful world to use and enjoy, He just doesn't want us to overindulge and hurt ourselves or others. Don't put undue emphasis on material things, or earthly attitudes i.e. gluttony, sex, greed, lust for power etc. "Command those who are rich in this present world not to bearrogant, nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment." 1st Timothy 6:17.

Communing with God in Christ should come as normally to us as drinking water or breathing air,

(He supplies those too!). God already knows our inmost thoughts and desires, but it pleases Him when we talk to Him in prayer through His Son, Christ Jesus. Praying or communing with the Lord need not be in a formal "church" setting or just with ones' pastor / priest.

We can do this any time, alone or with others, in the realm of our thoughts and words, when His Spirit motivates us, we will be drawn into a "prayerful spirit" and a grateful attitude. Hopefully, we will express this outwardly in addition by doing something as simple as helping others in day to day life when we see a need. Ask Christ to help you to maintain a "prayerful spirit" for ourselves and others, not just at Christmas, but throughout the entire year.
