subject: Exciting Wedding Destinations To Consider [print this page] If you are a groom or a bride on a budget then you must have on several occassions been shocked at the wedding location catering charges and rental rates of the highly popular locations. A close pal of mine got engaged sometime back in New York and we set out to locate affordable wedding destinations that won't drain her bank account dry. She was determined lady and had saved enough for that special day and her magical wedding dress.
After doing several inquiries and Googling we came up a list that I want to share with you here because you might also benefit by saving money and time.
High End Restaurants
Restauarants are good wedding venues and if you plan to have your wedding done at your favorite restaurant; then talk to the management and find out the cost of renting a private room or the whole place for your wedding. When searching for restaurants to host your wedding, consider restaurants with well tended backyard garden that can be used as a venue for the occassion., this should be spacious enough to allow for dancing.
The above option is ideal for off-peak hours because the resturant may not want to loose their weekend crowd.
Parks
Many cities around the country have good parks and they'll allow you to have your wedding on their grounds at a reasonable fee. Go for parks with covered patio, grassy picnic areas and fountains.
Performance Halls and Theaters.
Performance halls may seem like an out of the ordinary wedding destination, but they can be very magical and you will also be helping support the arts. One such place available for rental is the Brooklyn Academy of Music. This venue lets you have your wedding at a number of locations and above all you can have your reception at the lobby of the grand 2nd floor. Local residents are offered great discounts.
Many towns also have old fashioned cinema theatres that will definitely add vaudeville charm to the occassion. If you prefer a contemporary feel then check out with modern local theater companies that rent out their spaces during off-peak season, saying I do on a theater stage definitely make you feel ike a star.
Local College Ground
How about the alumni house or the chraming chapel at your local college? most colleges offer their alumni very reduced rates to have their wedding at their premises as opposed to non-alumni. Just ensure that it's scenic and here I mean the ivy covered type halls and green hills and not bare concrete buildings.
Unique Places and creative places
Get creative when searching for wedding venues and this means you adopt an out of the box thinking. A unique place could be where you first met your spouse, on top of a roller coster or an old mill, the reason for emphasizing on creative is that it adds personality to your wedding. I personally know a couple who got married in a charming brewery, you get the point.
