HTC Desire Z, Desire's younger brother , has the challenging job of supplying exactly what may be better at a cell phone with Android os operating system, but in a smaller and more compact package.
The back of the telephone is outlined by curved forms, which has as the main part the polished aluminum cover which is engraved with the HTC logo.
In front we find the same 4 touch-sensitive buttons which are also present at Desire HD.Tthey are situated higher than the trackpad which usually acts as the confirm press button.
On the right side we can find the specific camera switch, luckily modeled to prevent inadvertent operation.
On the left side of the display we have a sized volume button and a micro-USB connector, with a slightly deeper profile as compared to the rest of the phone but still left discovered, which often could create difficulties in time, like the accumulation of dirt.
Above the screen, we can find the connector for 3.5 mm headphone jack and the power button, which can be used as a screen lock button.
HTC Desire Z comes equipped with a 3.7-inch touch screen display along with pinch-to-zoom functionality and resolution 480 x 800 pixels, providing the same work area as its bigger brother, but reduced to a smaller area. Screen readability has not suffered too much due to reduced dimensions, the exception being maybe just browsing webpages, where the eyes are subjected to extra effort and so discerning small text.
QWERTY keyboard is controlled by a mechanism with 2 solid aluminum hinges, resulting in a slightly circular movement as the screen is passed over the keyboard. The mechanism is effortless enough to be handled. The hinge system gets firm after expanding the keyboard.
HTC Z Desire CPU sadly is clocked at just 800MHz, contrary to Desire HD model which has a 1GHz CPU. We still appreciate the number of RAM (512MB)
Desire Z is running Android 2.2 (Froyo), delivering the same HTC Sense software which we already have got on Desire HD model. Speed is very good and the time to boot the operating-system is less than 5 seconds.
For the communication part we have a WiFi 802.11 b / g / n module, Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP mode, GPRS, EDGE and 3G, .
The user interface is really rich in options, and also very user-friendly
Desire HTC Z is one of those eye-catching mobile phone models which has a high selling price. The design is very successful in terms of cosmetic and nearly perfect in terms of quality construction. Android operating system is already well known and Desire Z just puts even more value.
