The sport of Mixed Martial Arts is taking the world by storm. Every day more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon and hoping to become the next great fighter. I myself am one of these people!
In my great excitement to jump into the world of MMA, I immediately ran into a problem: how was I going to learn how to train properly for MMA? I didn't know any MMA coaches or experienced fighters. There isn't an MMA training center near me, nor could I afford it even if there was.
I put my time in at the gym during the day (doing the same training routine I had always done), and tried to find any MMA training information I could find when I got home. I knew I needed to customize my workout and cardio programs to get me in MMA shape, but I had no idea how to do that.
I was able to find little bits and pieces of information from some forums and blogs, but nothing great, and definitely nothing complete. I finally came across The Ultimate MMA Strength and ConditioningProgram by successful MMA coach Eric Wong.
I was highly impressed with the thoroughness of this program. I was expecting another vague printout of the same exercises everyone already knew about. That wasn't the case. This guide taught me all kinds of things that I'd never even seen before, along with discussing which exercises were nothing but a waste of time.
The guide also went into great detail about cardio and conditioning routines. I had a lot of trouble with this in the past and was very pleased to have a step-by-step guide to follow that got me right on track.
There was so much in this guide that I can't even go into most of it. It has taken my training to a new level. Having went through the pain and struggle of trying to find good training information for MMA, I felt compelled to share my experience.
