Excursions on your Marbella Holiday

Hoping to discover some day trips that are really worth going the extra mile on your Marbella holidays? We've put together a list of some of the best excursions around, all of which are within a couple of hours from Marbella. Why not spend a couple of days away from the main resort? There's much more to Marbella than sea, sand and celebrities.

Casco Antiguo (the old town)

Any holidays to Marbella must include a tour of the old town otherwise known as Casco Antiguo a cobblestoned pedestrian shopping area filled with rustic white-washed buildings, narrow lanes, welcoming cafes and a variety of boutiques. Here you will find Moorish architecture alongside traditional Spanish buildings in one of the most beautiful parts of Marbella.

Tivoli World

Looking for fun on your holidays to Marbella? Then head to Tivoli World. Located in Benalmadena, thirty-five minutes away from Marbella, Tivoli World is the largest amusement park on the Costa del Sol. Surrounded by magnificent fountains and stunning gardens, the park is a mix of classic old-fashioned games and stands and modern roller coasters and water flumes.

Ronda

Looking for culture on your Marbella holidays? Why not make a day trip to Ronda to visit one of the oldest bull rings in Spain? Located only forty-five minutes outside of Marbella, on top of a gigantic rocky outcrop spanning a limestone cliff, this rustic village has the most glorious scenery. Indulge in the delicious local cuisine at one of the village's welcoming cafes, tapas bars and restaurants.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar can be seen from the Marbella coastline and on a clear day its a magnificent sight. As you get closer to this peninsula you'll be even more amazed at its scale and grandeur. Although technically a peninsula, many people see Gibraltar as an island due to its size. Don't miss the Apes Den, where Barbary Apes roam free, and whatever you do, don't forget your passport. You'll need it to enter Gibraltar.
