Maximise Your Chances Of Becoming Pregnant With Basal Body Temperature Charting

For many Women getting pregnant can be a dream just out of reach, but there are many things you can do to increase your chances of conceiving without resorting to expensive fertility treatments. Using a Basal Thermometer to chart changes in your body temperature is just one of those things.

To increase you chances you should make sure you have sex at around the same time you are Ovulating, this will massively increase your chances of becoming pregnant.

Simple then, have sex when you are ovulating, but how do you know when you are ovulating or about to ovulate? It is a common misconception that since your cycle is 28 days that you will be ovulating at day 14, this is not true, it can vary from woman to woman and can be anywhere from day 10 to day 21.

A little known fact is that your body temperature (Basal Temperature) varies slightly during your cycle. Your body temperature is slightly lower before ovulation and peaks immediately afterwards.

These changes in temperature are very small, normally in the region of 0.4 to 0.6 degrees Fahrenheit. A normal glass thermometer may not be able to pick them up so you will need to use a Basal Thermometer, these are special ultra-sensitive thermometers that can detect a 0.1 degree Fahrenheit change. The best ones have a digital readout and can remember the last value for you. You can take your temperature much quicker with a Basal Thermometer too, normally within 30 "" 60 seconds.

Using a Basal Thermometer you can chart you body temperature from the first day of your cycle and begin to build up a picture of your cycle. You should see the change in temperature from around 96 to 98 degrees before ovulation, up to 97 to 99 degrees immediately afterwards.

By reviewing your chart you will be able to determine when you are ovulating, and if you keep doing it and are regular you may even be able to predict when you are about to Ovulate and find out the best time for you to have sex to maximize your chances of becoming pregnant!
