A normal glass thermometer may not be able to pick them up so you will need to use a Basal Thermometer, these are special ultra-sensitive thermometers that can detect a 0.1 degree Fahrenheit change. The best ones have a digital readout and can remember the last value for you. You can take your temperature much quicker with a Basal Thermometer too, normally within 30 "" 60 seconds.
Using a Basal Thermometer you can chart you body temperature from the first day of your cycle and begin to build up a picture of your cycle. You should see the change in temperature from around 96 to 98 degrees before ovulation, up to 97 to 99 degrees immediately afterwards.
By reviewing your chart you will be able to determine when you are ovulating, and if you keep doing it and are regular you may even be able to predict when you are about to Ovulate and find out the best time for you to have sex to maximize your chances of becoming pregnant!
