Bangsaen Beach : A True Thai Paradise

Bangsaen beach has been popular with Thai tourists for a long time, and non-Thais have now also started to appreciate what it has to offer. It is now attracting visitors from all around the world, who are enticed by the prospect of spending their vacation in a beautiful, peaceful coastal town.

You will mainly find couples and families at Bangsaen beach. You can completely avoid the backpackers that have over-run the south of Thailand, and the large groups of beer guzzling guys that head to Pattaya. It is the type of place that you would be happy to take your grandparents to, safe in the knowledge that they would feel totally safe and secure, and would not be offended by anything that they come across.

Do not take that to mean that Bangsaen beach is boring though. You can sunbathe on the beach, do water-sports, go shopping, watch movies, etc. The point is that you can come with your partner or family and rest assured that you will be in the right kind of environment. That so many expats have chosen Bangsaen beach as their new home says a lot about the place.

There are literally thousands of non-Thais who have built or bought vacation homes around Bangsaen beach. If you are planning to visit the area, then you might want to consider renting one from them. Staying in a luxury vacation home is always preferable to staying in a hotel, especially if you have your family with you.

Price-wise, there are some absolutely great deals to be had. Remember - everything in Thailand is cheaper than it is in your home country. You will pay just a fraction of the price for a beach-side vacation home in Thailand compared to what you would pay in the U.S or Europe. As Bangsaen beach is still not on most tourist maps, you can get some especially great deals - for the time being at least.

No visa is needed if you plan to visit Bangsaen beach for less than a month.. For stays of a longer than a month then you will need to get a tourist visa from a Thai consulate in your home country. Tourist visas cost less than $50 and entitle you to stay in the country for up to 3 months.

As for when to visit Bangsaen beach, any time between December and May will guarantee you good weather, but the most popular months are December and January, as the temperatures are slightly cooler than the following months. Expect the temperature to break the 90 degree mark every day, so be sure to pack lots of sun-tan lotion!
